Start Fresh or Charge Ahead? OR @CRMU
Options 1. Fresh Start (do over) 2. Update configuration or data 3. Enhance current setup to meet business requirements @CRMU
Considerations § § § Number of Users Outlook Installation Personal Views Training Number of Customizations § Complexity of Customizations § Number of Custom Reports § Complexity of Custom Reports § Downtime § Security § User Profiles § Integrations @CRMU
1. Fresh Start PROS CONS § Spend less time on Gap Analysis and more time on Business Requirements § Who doesn’t love the fresh CRM smell? § If data needs correction, it becomes part of data import. § Retraining § Reconfigure outlook connector § Customizations can be lost § Some custom reports might need to be rewritten @CRMU
2. Update Data and/or Configurations PROS CONS § Should spend equal amount of time on Business Requirements and Gap Analysis § No need to reconfigure outlook or initial CRM setup § Might need to go through extensive customization and data correction § May need to undo a significant amount of customizations @CRMU
3. Just Enhance it to make it work! PROS § Depending of what your definition of “make it work” you could have it ready in no time § No need to reconfigure outlook or initial CRM setup CONS § User Acceptance § It won’t have the “new CRM smell”!!! @CRMU
Conclusion § Regardless of your current CRM state, take the time to think about how your system could be improved. § CRM is very flexible and can accommodate personalization and customization without heavy customizations. § Always engage your Microsoft Partner to ensure your implementation conforms with best practices and industry standards. @CRMU
