Confirmation Class Opening Prayer Fill the Hearts of Your Faithful In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit instructs the hearts of the faithful, grant that by that same Spirit we may be ever wise and rejoice in His consolations. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Amen. 2

Chapter 6: Made by God Ø Even though God has revealed himself to us

Chapter 6: Made by God Ø Even though God has revealed himself to us in and through Jesus, people still ask the questions of life. Ø They are the questions about God AND about people. Who are we? Where do we come from? Why are we here? Ø As we try to figure out and understand the nature of God we also try to figure out our own human nature. (Here is a typical slide from a class presentation) Students must date and title their notes as above. This gives you quick access to references. It keeps your information organized. 15

The name that is to be chosen must be the name of a Catholic Saint (e. g. St. Joseph, St. Theresa, etc. ) or a notable person from the Old Testament (e. g. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Moses etc. ). The Saint or Biblical person should be someone whom the candidate admires and tries to imitate. The Saint then becomes a special patron and a friend of the candidate for life. A candidate may wish to take the same name given to them at baptism. This is an option. In either case, the candidate is asked to do a special Research Project on the Saint or Biblical Person. They are due March 14, 2021. 37
