THREE SPORT CLASSIFICATIONS • High Risk: • Sports that involve close, sustained contact between participants. • Examples: cheerleading (stunts), football, lacrosse, and wrestling. • Moderate Risk: • Sports that involve close, sustained contact, but with protective equipment in place. • Examples: Basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer, ice hockey, field hockey, tennis, swimming relays, pole vault, high jump, long jump, girls lacrosse, 7 on 7 football • Low Risk: • Sports that can be done with social distancing. • Examples: bowling, cross country, golf, individual swimming, rifle, running events, sideline cheer, throwing events, and weightlifting.

CV Green Phase 2 (week 3) - may begin controlled contact in small groups, 60% of the number of starters with modified game rules (ex. 11 starters – up to 6 vs. 6; 5 or 6 starters - up to 3 v 3, etc. ) • • Groups of 25 or less; space groups 10 feet apart. • Length of phase TBA No on or off-campus team competitions permitted (summer leagues, friendly games, tournaments, camps unless camps are skills or modified competition).

CURRENT REOPENING PHASES FOR CV • CV Green Phase 3 (week TBA) – Full contact, Full team • WORKOUT GROUPS • Staff created student groups. Staff documents groups daily. • Students are to stay in the same groups for each training session throughout the off season when possible. ATTENDANCE • Student and coach attendance is OPTIONAL. • Coaches shall document attendance every day for safety reasons to be produced in the case of a confirmed COVID-19 case in order to track student and staff contact. • Students may attend up to 2 hours per day of strength and conditioning and up to 2 hours of team sport workouts, 3 days a week. •

PREPARING STAFF AND ATHLETES SCREENING PROCEDURES • All Coaching staff members will be required to adhere to all guidelines provided. • Any Coaches not adhering to guidelines or enforcing guidelines with team will lose the privilege of summer workouts for their team until further notice. • All Head Coaches must review Return to Play guidelines and protocols/procedures with staff and athletes. • Coaches and athletic staff should monitor athletes for symptoms during workouts. If individuals participating in sporting activities show symptoms, or are sick, they must be isolated, masked and sent home and instructed to follow up with their personal care provider. The Athletic Director’s Office should be notified. 717 -397 -5231 x 1060 • All student-athletes and coaches will be required to consent to at-home screening prior to attending workouts. If they fail the at-home screening they should not attend workouts.

Wash hands for 20 seconds with soap or use hand sanitizer upon arrival to workouts, during breaks and after workouts. • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth. • Cover coughs and sneezes with a sleeve or elbow, not with hands. Wash or sanitize hands afterwards. • Students bring their own water bottles (no sharing) and no food permitted except for medical reasons (ex. low blood sugar) • No shared equipment • Chewing gum, spitting, licking fingers and eating sunflower seeds is not permitted • Students should bring their own masks and hand sanitizer

If not actively involved, students should wear masks. • Athletes and coaches should remain at least 6 feet apart when not exercising. • Athletes and coaches should remain 10 feet apart when exercising with the only exception being for safety reasons (spotting, etc. ). It is recommended that athletes wear masks when spotting. • All workout stations shall be at least 10 feet apart. • Do not gather in large groups. • Limit unnecessary physical contact including shaking hands, fist bumps and high fives at any time.

CLEANING AND SANITATION • Coaches are responsible for cleaning balls and other equipment after each use. • Coaches should clean all high touch areas: doorknobs, handles, counters, benches, weight room equipment. If surfaces are dirty, clean them. • Use of shared objects (e. g. , gym or athletic equipment, bars, weights) should be limited when possible, and cleaned between use by students and coaches. • 30 minutes between workouts is allotted for coaches to clean weight room and team equipment.

It is a good idea for students to bring their own sanitizer. Students must sanitize or wash their hands prior to entry, during breaks and after workouts. • Six feet social distancing is expected upon arrival and during breaks • Locker rooms are closed. Students must come dressed ready to play. No changing in bathrooms. • Non-essential personnel (parents, siblings, volunteers, etc. ) will not be allowed to watch/ attend workout sessions, limiting the number of people at each venue. • Those dropping off and picking up students should stay in their vehicles.

STUDENTS DEPART IMMEDIATELY AFTER WORKOUTS – NO LINGERING OR CONGREGATING • NO PARKING PERMITTED IN THE BACK PARKING LOT BEHIND RILL, IN FRONT OF THE GRASS FOOTBALL FIELDS • For Rill, drop off, pick up, parking directly in front of Rill Gym • For Uyeda, drop off, pick up, parking in front of Rill lobby doors and toward main high school office. • For Weight Room, grass Football fields – drop off and pick up at west entrance (student entrance) and parking is in student parking lot, closest to west entrance. • For Tennis courts – drop off, pick up, parking at pavilion/ tennis courts • For Baseball field– drop off, pick up, parking in student parking lot at far corner nearest baseball field • For Stadium and Soccer fields – drop off, pick up, parking in Witmer parking lot • Softball field and Bowl field – drop off, pick up, parking at middle school parking lot

ENTERING AND EXITING PROCEDURES WEIGHT ROOM • Coach will enter through back door near training room and go into weight room and open outside doors for students. • Students enter and exit through outside weight room doors, they are marked. Outside doors should remain open throughout the workout for better air circulation. • Coaches and players are responsible for disinfecting and cleaning equipment after each use and coaches responsible to clean after session is over. Coaches should clean door handles, counters and benches along with weights and bars. • May lift outside and in hallway (use one marked door) • Use other door to go to bathroom (marked) – One person at a time in the bathroom. • Students must be engaged in activity and stay 10 feet away with exertion and 6 feet away at rest. • Students are encouraged to wear masks when spotting.

NECESSARY PAPERWORK • All Athletes and parents must complete a COVID-19 At Home Screening

NECESSARY PAPERWORK • All Athletes and parents must complete a COVID-19 At Home Screening consent form AND read the Return to Play plan. • Students are not permitted to participate without a signed consent form. • Coaches will have access to the spreadsheet to look up who has signed the form.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS, TESTING & MANAGEMENT • Any athlete or coach exhibiting any of the

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS, TESTING & MANAGEMENT • Any athlete or coach exhibiting any of the symptoms below prior to reporting for a workout should NOT report, should contact your health care provider immediately and notify Conestoga Valley Athletic Department by phone 717 -397 -5231 x 1060: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea. • Students and staff who appear to have symptoms or who become sick during workouts will be immediately separated from other students, masked and instructed to return home. Athletic Director’s office should be notified 717 -397 -5231 x 1060. • If a student tests positive for COVID– 19, they are to self-isolate until 10 days from onset of symptoms AND 72 hours of being symptom free without medications. • The student must obtain a clearance note from their doctor prior to returning to workouts. • Seek emergency medical attention if someone is showing signs of trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, bluish lips or face.

TIPS • It is important to be extremely vigilant in the weight room. All

All coaches should be roaming the room and enforcing social distance guidelines and making sure that equipment is disinfected after use. • To reduce the number of dumbbells and plates that you have to sanitize, separate weights for students to use and then you only have to disinfect that group of weights in stead of all of them not knowing which ones were used. • All cardio equipment is off limits.

When students are on the leg press and leg curl machines, they must be every other one. Be sure that there is a machine that is vacant between users.

There is 10 feet between the CV logo on each deadlift platform so all

There is 10 feet between the CV logo on each deadlift platform so all five are usable. In front of the platforms, you see the squat rack and bench press. Students may use the deadlift platform and the squat rack or the dead lift platform and the bench press. However, students can NOT use the squat rack and the bench press at the same time. There is not enough distance. People waiting to use the machines should keep a safe social distance (10 feet) from people who are working out (squatter should not be waiting to use the squat rack at the squat rack!). It is recommended for spotters to be wearing masks due to lack of distance and exertion of the lifter.

The position for each bench has been marked by tape. Benches should not be moved by students or coaches. If you notice that they are out of position, please return them to their original position.
