What does the original playwright want the audience to know after watching the play? 3. This is often the most difficult question but really its about knowing what your play is ABOUT? What does it MEAN? THEMES? 2. Characters. What characters are you playing? 3. Set and Design. Any specific set and design that could be seen as a challenge? 4. Stage Directions – are there specific ones which you need to adhere to? 5. Where in the whole play do your extracts happen? Do they affect each other? If so how will you convey this?
