• Meetod Concept Mapping (CM) seisneb selles, et õpilased seovad mõisted omavahel relatsioonidega, koostades nii mõistekaardi. • Mõistekaardi väikseim komponent on propositsioon, mis koosneb kahest omavahel relatsiooniga seotud mõistes • Meetodi CM puhul lähtutakse sellest, et inimajus on teadmised salvestatud propositsionaalselt ja saadud Concept Mapid (mõistekaardid) representeerivad neid inimajus talletatud propositsionaalseid teadmisi (Atkinson, Shiffrin, 1968, Norman, Rumelhart, 1978).
