Introduction • • • The CAM usage survey was carried out by FICTA in 2012. It is the first survey of its kind in Ireland related to complementary Therapists and their contribution to primary healthcare. Survey participants responded using a confidential online survey platform (Survey Monkey). 317 participants in total contributed to the survey. number 182 (57. 4%) answered all the questions. Of that The number of respondents who answered each question is noted on each graph and the percentages recorded are of that number.

Introduction … continued FICTA Members were asked to encourage theìr association's members to participate in the survey. Non-member complementary therapists were also invited to participate. Participants were asked to refer to their case-notes for any consecutive two work-week period of their choice as a source of the information asked for. During the selected two week period, analysis of the results showed that 2769 people sought CAM treatments.
