COMPETENCY 1 Identifying as a professional social worker and conduct oneself accordingly. APPLICATION: 1. 1 Advocate for client access to the service of social work With assistance from my supervisor I could do this by becoming familiar with services that are available within the school system for students. I could identify students who are in need of those services and push for them.
1. 2 Practice personal reflection and self-correlation to assure continual professional development. I could do this by asking questions about the role that I am responsible and expected to fulfill. Also, I should seek constructive criticism when I complete a task.
1. 3 Attend to professional roles and boundaries I could read the School Handbook and other guidelines given by my supervisor which would help me be aware of the roles and restrictions that I am required to follow.
1. 4 Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior I must try to carry a positive and professional attitude at all times, especially in the midst of stressful or crisis situations.
