• Both the United States and Germany have a leader with the title of President. • Joachim Gauck is the president of Germany as Barak Obama is the current US president. • Both countries elect presidents. • Term length in Germany is 5 years term length in America is 4 years.
BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS • Any German who is entitled to vote in Bundestag elections and has attained the age of forty may be elected. • The person must be a natural-born citizen of the United States and must have been a permanent resident of the United States of America for at least 14 years. Must be at least 35 years old.
• They have a legislation just as the United States does. • Germanys government is bicameral and so is the United States • Germany has 631 people the US only has 535.
FREEDOMS • Germany does also have the freedom of speech. • They also have the freedom of religion • Germany does not have the right to bear arms.
• The German politics is similar to American they to have 3 political parties. • Christian Democratic Union – Christian understanding of humans and their responsibility toward God. • Southern sister party – More of a conservative party every second person voted for them. • Social Democratic Party -Focusing on adding more jobs to the German job market more for the middle class kinds of people.
VOTING • In Germany you must be 18 years of age and you must have lived in Germany for at least 3 months prior to voting. • In the US you also must be 18 and any citizen can vote. • As the US does Germany holds a primary election every 4 years.
TAXES • As in America Germany taxes you on all the money you make off of everything. • The German government makes most of their money off of exporting their sea food also off of taxes.
