Ordering Negative Numbers Place the following negative numbers in order from smallest to largest. -2 -8 -12 -15 -3 How could this be done?
Ordering Negative Numbers -2 -8 -12 -15 -3 Step 1: The most important thing to remember is that the farther below zero you go, the smaller the number gets. For example, -15 is smaller than -3. Start by identifying the number which is farthest below zero. -15 is the farthest below zero so that is our smallest number.
Ordering Negative Numbers -2 -8 -12 -15 -3 Step 2: Now, using your number line, point to -15 and move up the number line closer to zero. When you come to the next number on the list, write it down. The next number in our list which comes after -15, is -12.
Ordering Negative Numbers -2 -8 -12 -15 -3 Step 3: Continue to slowly move up the number line. Remember to note down any numbers in your list as you come to them. The next number in our list is going to be -8.
Ordering Negative Numbers -2 -8 -12 -15 -3 Step 4: Repeat step 3 until you have placed all the numbers in the correct order. The correct order is: -15, -12, -8, -3, -2
Ordering Negative Numbers Place the following numbers in ascending order. -10 10 -2. 5 -8 -12 Answer: -12, -10, -8, -2. 5, 10
