Art Analysis Additionally, to the proportion concept, the pattern it is also very clear on this panting. Since, the buildings are systematically placed, the ones in the begging, where is emphasised, and then the ones in the way to the end. They are placed in a sequence of several buildings in a row until the end of the painting, which represents the society in a bigger picture, to show the extent of the problem and the amount of people that are being affected. This painting of Tammam Azzam have several principles of design and art elements that can be analysed to his concept of a destroyed society Source: http: //d 3 i 6 fh 83 elv 35 t. cloudfront. net/newshour/wpcontent/uploads/2016/02/TA 125 -Tammam-Azzam-Storeys-series-180 -x-235 cm. -Acrylic-on-Canvas-2015. png The proportion, it is one of the most important principle on this painting, because there is an important aspect on this of this work. The infinite perspective, where Tammam Azzam paints the first buildings as larger that the others on the way back. That bring the feeling to the audience that purpose of this painting is to show the extent of the problem that the artists is stating, which we have a feeling that there is no end. The texture on this piece it is used to enhance the purpose of this artwork, the melting of the buildings are presenting the sinking of the Syrian society. Lucio Costa was French-Brazilian urbanist architect who was the head of the urbanist plan of Brasilia, the Capital of Brazil(Biografia de Lucio Costa). He used an ideal of utopian to support the urban planning, which means that he wanted to have a city which would be a world example of an utopian society. In 1955 Lucio Costa was elected the person in charged to design Brasilia. Primarily based on the French architect Le Corbusier, where he was influenced by him in a way of the utopian ideal. Le Corbusier was also internationally known by his utopian ideals and concepts, of creating entire cities in one building (Biografia de Lucio Costa) Plano Piloto, the code name for the project of Brasilia, was finalized in 1960, and Lucio Costa became one of the most important modern architects and urbanists in the Brazilian history. Brasilia became super populated city in a couple of years, and the ideal of utopian from Lucio Costa never became true. The audience of this project was all the modern architects and urbanist on 60 s, where Lucio Costa attempted to prove that an entire city could be planned from the scratch, backed with an utopian ideal

Formal analysis: Lucio Costa, uses emphasis to show the main purpose of this project,

Formal analysis: Lucio Costa, uses emphasis to show the main purpose of this project, the centralisation of all the three governmental powers. He uses that in the project with all the buildings turned into one place, which is central governmental building. Furthermore, emphasis it is very important for the meaning of this project, since one of the reasons for why the Brazilian government decided to move the capital city from Rio de Janeiro to a new city, was the placing of all three governmental powers together (Lucio Costa). Form is one the most clear art elements on this pice, since the city has format of a plane, where each part of it has a different function. The west wing having residential area for politicians, while the east wing has the function for the works residence, and the central area for governmental functions. This artwork has many different principle of design and art elements to be analysed. The balance it is clearly seen on this project, because the way how the houses and neighbourhood were set, been perfectly divided into west and east, giving a perfect balance to the piece. In architecturally thinking, space is one of the most important principles, since you have to use measurements and land’s space. Lucio Costa used space clearly on his piece, in a way that city is sustained by water, but also have space for the upcoming growth.
