Workday Means Different Things for Different People This presentation is focused on the Employee As Self role and self-service capabilities; however, Workday also has a number of tools for managing others. • • • Sample business processes in a worker’s life cycle include (but are not limited to): Employee As Self Personalized homepage and workflow tools View your own information Change and manage personal information Managing Others in Workday will provide key Penn users with greater access and ability to manage worker’s data. Multiple Workday components (or business processes) are a part of managing a worker’s lifecycle, but every lifecycle is unique to each individual worker. More information on this Workday functionality will be communicated in the coming months. 2

Workday means… An Integrated System Workday will fully or partially replace many “legacy systems. ” Unifying these systems will work to simplify and standardize processes for all Penn users. Workday means… Self-Service Employee Self-Service (ESS) enables all users to take ownership in maintaining and managing their personal information. Workday means… Improved Workflow Workday Workflow Tools Inbox The Workday Inbox contains a list of actions to be completed by the specific user. Worklets Notifications Worklets provide access to frequently used tasks and information. The Workday notifications page displays list of completed business processes sent to the specific user. Each user’s home page will display different worklets, depending on the position and responsibilities. This list is for information purposes only, no action is required. In addition to a personalized inbox and notifications, Workday also allows you to track status and who is assigned the next step. 6

Workday means… Access to Personal Information Workday makes it easier to access and manage your own information, anytime, anywhere, anyplace. Workday means… Increased Visibility Workday allows for increased visibility into supervisory organizations including organizational structure, reporting structure, and direct reports. To access supervisory organizations: Supervisory organization information can be accessed by clicking on the My Team worklet and then My Org Chart under the View section Manager of Supervisory Organization All workers will be hired into a supervisory organization Employees who report to Jane Doe • • • 8 Managers are orange, even if they report directly to another manager. Employees are blue Click on a person’s square to view profile information. Information available depends on security role.
