LEAPS 2. 0 – CCA Recognition Scheme The CCA Recognition Scheme has been designed: to encourage continuous participation in CCA, to ensure a more balanced pupil’s CCA load, to reward effort, contribution and achievement, Levels attained can be used in applications for scholarships, bursaries and admission to Pre-U classes and the Polytechnics.

CCA Bonus Points ADMISSION TO POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS • At the end of the graduation year, students’ co -curricular attainment will be recognised according to Excellent/Good/Fair. The level of attainment will be converted to a bonus point(s) which can be used for admission to Junior Colleges/Polytechnics/Institutes of Technical Education.

Direct School Admission (ITE, JCs, Polys) • Students can gain admission to courses in JCs, ITEs and Polytechnics via DSA if they can show strong aptitude, leadership or talents in Performing Arts , sports or interest areas, before GCE ‘O’ or ‘N’ level results are released, on condition they meet the eligibility criteria.

How you can partner us o Emphasise to your child that CCA attendance is mandatory o Monitor your child’s participation. Check for letters issued by CCA Teacher. Refer to the CCA webpages for the CCA’s whole year programme. o Schedule tuition and enrichment activities on weekends if possible. o If your child is sick, ask your child to produce MC to CCA teacher the next working day.

What You Can Do Before 15 Jan o Sit down with your child o Talk with your child about their interests o Check out CCA webpages for more info about the CCA demands o Look at the CCAs he/she is shortlisted during trials/auditions o Manage the CCA commitments with his/her other pursuits
