Commercials Garda vetting instruction

Welcome and Thank you for becoming a valued member of Commercials Hurling and Camogie club. We appreciate you taking the time to become involved in the club and beginning the process of Garda vetting with the GAA/Commercials. I will go through the process of how you achieve garda vetting step by step in this short powerpoint presentation. First I would like to introduce myself, My name is Deborah Strumble and I am the Children’s Officer for Commercials.

Step 1: Go to Gaa website https: //www. gaa. ie/thegaa/child-welfare-and-protection/vetting and download the GAA E-Vetting ID Form. Please complete this form and make copies of 2 forms of identification i. e. passport or driving license and a utility bill or something with your current address on it. Step 2: Please forward these copies to the Children’s Officer at childrensofficer. commercialshurling. dublin@gaa. ie and keep a copy to attach to your vetting application.

Step 3: Go back to the GAA website and open the vetting page https: //www. gaa. ie/the-gaa/child-welfare-and-protection/vetting

Step 4: Scroll down the page and note that if this vetting application is for a child 16 -18 years of age you will need to download and fill in the (NVB Parent/Guardian Consent Form) and attach to your application also.

Step 5: You will need to click on the blue word here to complete your online application

Step 6: This is a completed(on next page also) online form which you are required to attach your 2 forms of ID

Step 8: The GAA will supply you with a reference number e. g GAA 001 -2910 -45123 when you make an application. Please forward that to me the Children’s officer when you get it. When your disclosure from the GAA comes through I will destroy your ID paperwork. -You are also required to do the Safeguarding 1 course, please email me for dates of when these will happen.
