COMMA RULE #4 Use commas between items in a series. EXAMPLE: I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE TO BUY EGGS, MILK, AND BUTTER.
WE WENT TO THE MALL THE PARK AND THE LIBRARY TODAY.
THE KIDS ATE PLAYED AND SWAM AT THE BIRTHDAY PARTY.
BOTTOMS UP, HEADS TOGETHER: I’M SO FULL FROM BREAKFAST BECAUSE I ATE EGGS TOAST AND PANCAKES! THEN FOR DINNER I ATE A BURGER FRIES AND DRANK A MILKSHAKE!
PARAGRAPH JIGSAW: ● WRITE YOUR NAME AT THE TOP OF YOUR PAPER. ● WHEN I SAY “GO!” YOU’RE GOING TO BEGIN READING YOUR PARAGRAPH AND INSERTING COMMAS WHERE NECESSARY, BASED ON COMMA RULE #4. ● AFTER 30 SECONDS, THE BUZZER WILL GO OFF AND THEN YOU WILL PASS YOUR PARAGRAPH CLOCKWISE. ● WHEN YOU GET THE NEXT PAPER, BEGIN READING WHERE YOU LEFT OFF AND CONTINUE INSERTING COMMAS. ● REPEAT THIS PROCESS UNTIL YOU HAVE BACK YOUR ORIGINAL PAPER.

COMMA RULE #8 Use commas when 2 or more adjectives describe 1 noun. Except when indicating age, religion, color, size or national origin. EXAMPLE: She was a quiet, reserved girl.

RULE #3 Use commas around words, phrases, and clauses, when they are not important to the meaning. Example: The legend of big foot, by the way, has never been proven.
