Comenius “Ourselves” Comenius Teacher Team in Croatia The 2 nd Primary School of Bjelovar, Croatia School year 2010/2011

There are six of us taking part in Comenius project “Great Minds” directly. . . Anita, Andrea, Goran, Ines, Renata and Davorka We are going to introduce ourselves. . . the pupils are introduced in another presentation. . .

My name is Anita Vegh, and I am 32 -year-old English teacher. I am also a wife and a mother of two. Teaching is something I have always wanted to do. I would probably choose to be a teacher again if I got another chance in some other life. People say that I am merry and ambitious. Well, very often I feel as if I have not got enough time in a day to do all the things from the list I have made. Wherever I go, I take a pen and a piece of paper with me because you never know what gorgeous idea might pop into your head!!! Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and make notes – I dream my class, my lessons and my dear colleagues. . . School is a great part of my life. I feel happy to teach English. My life slogans are: Live and let live! Go, go!!!

My name is Andrea Tukša. I teach German language as the second foreign language (elective) in The 2 nd Primary School of Bjelovar. Being a teacher trainer and a manager of German teachers' team in The County of Bjelovar, I use every chance to improve my knowledge. I would like to give my Croatian students some directions for intercultural and "inter-school" communication. The promotion of interculturalism and multiculturalism is very important for me. In this sense, the project “Great Minds” will provide the framework for a language and cultural encounter and also ensure transferability of knowledge in the European context. My interests are music, cooking, documentary films and sailing.

I am Goran Kruno Kukolj, a professor of technical education, film and media. I am 43, married and I have two kids. In my work I am inspired by nature, music, ethno tradition and art. I am impressed by Salvador Dali and surrealism. If I should describe myself in several words, I would say: sport, art, rock, ethno, film, nature, tradition, family, spiritual, alternative. I play the clarinet and the guitar. I am the conductor of our school tambura orchestra (a traditional Croatian musical instrument) My life slogan: Let peace be with you! My favourite food is bacon and onion (ha-ha-ha).

My name is Ines Mihajlović and I am 28 years old. I am a psychology professor and I work in The 2 nd Primary School of Bjelovar as a school psychologist. Working with children represents a big source of pleasure for me. I am a cheerful, positive, optimistic and joyful person. I am really happy to participate in this project because I will learn a lot of interesting things about other four countries and their great minds, meet new people, visit one country and associate with children in my school working with them on this project. I am also glad to have an opportunity to show you how beautiful Croatia is.

My name is Renata Pavlić. I am a professor of geography and history. I am married and I am a mother of two. I have been teaching in The 2 nd Primary School of Bjelovar for more than ten years. I have worked on a primary school geography course book as an associate. I have joined the Comenius Team in our school because I like new experiences. I like nature and travelling. I spend my free time in a little garden where I grow flowers, vegetables and herbs. My life slogan: We learn in different ways, during the whole life.

I am Davorka BačekovićMitrović. I am a professor of Croatian language, but I am currently at the position of a school principal. My great interest is visual media. According to that, I have been organizing the lectures and workshops on media. The event is called “The Days of Media Culture” and pupils from other primary schools in the city of Bjelovar and wider, from Bjelovar Bilogora County, participate in its activities. During free time, I like riding my bicycle, ski and practice some extreme sports. Well, being a principal in Croatian public school is one of extreme sports I have taken up. I like comparing my principal job to bungee-jumping. . . Is that extreme enough or what?
