Triangular Trade Route Project
Choices Choice 1: You will complete a 15 question quiz that will test you on basic information that you learned throughout this week. OR Choice 2: You will have to fill out a three column chart that is focused upon the trading between the countries. This includes items and crops traded from Europe to the Americas, and the Americas back to Europe. You must separate these into sections of: crops, livestock, and diseases. In the third column, you will write a paragraph discussing which hemisphere you think got the most out of the Columbian Exchange and why.
…Continued Choice 3: You will create a timeline of the Columbus’ voyages. You will have to start in the year 1492 and then choose your ending point. The timeline must consist of at least 5 specific events that happened during the Columbus’ voyages. You must then describe each specific event and provide an illustration for each. Each event should be explained in two to three sentences. OR Choice 4: You will retell the true story of Matoaka. After you have told the accurate story, you must then compare it to Disney’s version. Then answer why do you think Disney created “Pocahontas” the way they did? This could be a Venn Diagram or some type of visual on poster board that could be presented to the class.
…Continued Choice 5: You will write a two paragraphs on this prompt. You should use specific information about the Columbian Exchange and express your opinion fully. The prompt is: What parts of the Columbian Exchange do you disagree with? What parts would you change and why? How would those changes affect us today? OR Choice 6: You will have to explore the different motives you think Columbus had for wanting to go to India. Was it for the Spanish Crown or for personal reasons? You will have to write a speech as if you were speaking to Queen Isabella. The speech must have historical accuracy and gives reasons to why you (Columbus) should go on this voyage. It must be written formally and respectfully. The speech should be at least two paragraphs.
