Types of CAT • The types of Collision Avoidance Technologies (CAT) that we have used or currently using: • Collision Warning System (CWS) • Adaptive Cruise Control with Active Braking (ACC) • Collision Mitigation System (CMS)

Meritor Wabco On. Guard • Sharp currently has 17 trucks that have this type of CAT. • The most basic system that we currently have. • From a high-level view, these systems alert the driver and apply auto-braking and throttle reduction without completely stopping the vehicle.

Bendix Wingman Advanced • The second system that we began to run. • Sharp currently has 10 with this system. • More advanced than the Meritor Wabco On. Guard. • Automatically applies brakes to mitigate or prevent a collision. • Also, reduces throttle to keep a set distance from the vehicle or object ahead. • Has stability control and video capabilities.

Bendix Wingman Fusion • This system is the most advanced that we are currently running. • Currently, Sharp has 20 trucks with this CAT system. • Has the functions of the Wingman Advanced, plus: • Will stop a vehicle completely • Enhanced collision mitigation or slows the truck down more than the Advanced system does. • Lane Departure alert • Reads speed limit signs and alerts driver. • Captures Video when over speeding.

Effects for Sharp Transport • These technologies have reduced the frequency, the costs, and the overall risks of rear-end collisions for us. • Since the inception of CAT at Sharp Transport, we have had 34 incidences that were turned in as claims, of the 34 only 4 involved trucks that had CAT. • Of the 4 incidences that involved a CAT equipped truck, only 1 had an injury (Parked Truck).

Effects for Sharp Transport, cont’d. • Of the 4 incidences that have occurred with trucks that have CAT: • 3 had the Meritor Wabco On. Guard • 1 had the Bendix Wingman Advanced • 0 with Bendix Wingman Fusion • We have had 42 claims in the last 5 years, of those 42 claims, 4 of the incidences had CAT on our truck involved.

Final Thoughts • We are seeing great improvement on frequency of accidents with trucks that have the CAT. • The projected decrease in accidents that we have seen is an 80% reduction. • That equates to potentially $1, 100, 000 in cost savings annually or an Out-of-Pocket savings of $45, 000 in insurance deductibles. • Having this technology greatly reduces our risk of litigation or serious accidents.
