COLLEYVILLE HERITAGE BAND FALL PARENT MEETING NOVEMBER 9 TH, 2016

Playoffs First game is tomorrow night Itinerary up on the website Gameday Meal this week – Cane’s Chicken $5 charged to CHARMs account. Students got the opportunity to opt out all together, or choose a Mc. Alister’s option as well • All students will perform in a special spirit routine we are learning tomorrow morning • •

Playoff Dates • Could be either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday every weekend from now until Christmas • Week 2: November 17 th-19 th • Week 3: November 25 th or 26 th • Week 4: December 1 st-3 rd • Week 5: December 8 th-10 th • Week 6: December 17 th (State Championship)

All Region Process • All Region is one of the most important individual honors that a band student can earn • Our goal is for students to be successful in the All Region process • Being named into the All Region band not only ensures a level of musical achievement on your instrument, but also is one of the corner stones for how a student letters in our program

All Region Process • Students enter for the audition by paying a $12 entry fee and filling out the online entry form by Tuesday, November 15 th • Directors have listening times available on the office doors (before, lunchtime, and after school) so students can get additional support • After the audition, students will be placed into one of five all region bands for high school • It leads to a clinic/concert that is held on January 13 th and 14 th at Trinity High School

All Region Audition Dates • All Auditions are at Coppell High School • Region Orchestra – Tuesday, November 15 th • Phase I – Brass/Percussion – Monday, December 5 th • Phase I – Woodwinds – Tuesday, December 6 th • Phase II – Saturday, December 10 th (AM) • 9 th Grade – Saturday, December 10 th (PM)

Parade of Lights • Thursday, December 1 st • Students are encouraged to wear lights and decorate their instruments • At this time, we do not know our performance order – we will announce as soon as the city of Grapevine lets us know • Start finding your Santa hats now! – White cotton ball, red hat, white trim, standard size (no weird hats or colors, nothing that’s 6 feet long…)

Winter Concert • Monday, December 12 th • 6: 30 Start with Concert I and Concert II bands combined • Symphonic performs 2 nd • Wind Symphony performs 3 rd

Band Auditions • Students will perform a portion of the All Region 9 th grade cuts • Students wanting to be considered for Wind Symphony will perform an additional cut from the HS etude • Etudes only – no scales or sight reading • Auditions will take place during final exams the last week of school

Musical – Once Upon a Mattress • We will have a instrumental ensemble • Approx. 16 -20 students • We start with Wind Symphony members and then fill the ensemble by chair order • There will be an audition for Keyboard, Strings, and Guitar on Tuesday, November 29 th • Musical members need to block out the week of January 16 th and January 23 rd • Opening night is Thursday, January 26 th

Booster Mission Statement • The Band Booster Club is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to help promote a better band, school and community spirit by volunteering our time and skills as well as provide financial support to fulfill the goals and objectives set forth by the Band Directors. • With all these components to build the program our students will have an awesome band experience.
