• At YSU, course placement is determined by ACT/SAT scores • Students can “challenge” by taking placement tests • In the past, students were not charged • Effective Spring 17, the new math assessment is ALEKS PPL; Reading is Accuplacer • ALEKS PPL provides tutorials, practice tests and official placement assessment • It is considered remediation by the state and not covered under CCP • Students who choose to “challenge” their math score pay a $25 (plus tax) user fee to ALEKS for access YSU Placement Tests

• What is a late W? • Notifying our office after the 14 th day of the term that a student is enrolled for a CCP HS based course he/she signed up for, that is not listed on his/her HS schedule • No longer accepted – why? • The student, parent and school are notified prior to the start of the term what class(es) the student is enrolled in • YSU submits billing within two weeks after the 15 th day of the term Late Withdrawal Requests
