WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS Ohio Alliance of Dual Enrollment Partnerships (OADEP) Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) Ohio Department of Education (ODE)
COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS – A BRIEF HISTORY 2014 – College Credit Plus created to replace PSEO 2015 -2016 – first academic year under College Credit Plus In the first year, over 54, 000 students enrolled in CCP In 2017 – 18, over 70, 000 student enrolled
CCP FOUNDATIONS: GUIDING PRINCIPALS Students must be primary focus. Ensure access to all college-ready students, and increase participation in underrepresented student groups. No (or minimal) cost to students. Secondary & higher education work collaboratively. Provide career exploration and exposure to college.
INFORMING FAMILIES OF CCP Each year, Secondary Schools are required to inform families of the CCP program (Grades 6 – 12) Annual Notice to students & parents before February 1. Information Sessions for students & parents between October 1 & February 15. Counseling Sessions for students & parents
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS IN OHIO LAW FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS Website: Promote the program, include information about partner colleges Intent Forms: Students must submit “intent to participate” by April 1 Textbooks: responsible for the CCP participants’ textbooks Model Pathways: Develop 15 and 30 credit hour model course pathways with partner colleges
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS IN OHIO LAW FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS Credits & Grades: Include college courses on high school transcript Award grades and credits Appropriate grade weighting (CCP courses must be weighted the same as AP/IB/Honors courses in same subject area) Data Reporting: Annually collect, report, and track specified data

COURSE ELIGIBILITY OHIO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION 3333 -1 -65. 12 3 Types of Courses: • Level II • Non-Allowable
NON-ALLOWABLE COURSES Applied courses with one-on-one private instruction Courses with high fees ($750 or more) Study abroad courses Physical education courses P/F or S/U grades Remedial & sectarian religion courses
LEVEL I COURSES – “FIRST 15” Transferable courses (Approved CTAG, OTM, TAG, or equivalent at private college or university) Courses in computer science, information technology, anatomy, physiology, or foreign language, including American Sign Language Course in a designated technical certificate program
LEVEL I COURSES – “FIRST 15” CONT. 15 -credit hour or 30 -credit hour model pathway courses Study skills, academic or career success skills courses Internship courses
LEVEL II COURSES Once students have completed the First 15, they can move on to Level II courses are any other college courses for which students meet the prerequisites. Students are encouraged to continue working toward the certificate or degree pathways started in Level I.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Colleges & universities must list Level I courses on their websites & send preterm notices of student enrollment to secondary schools. Secondary schools must verify course enrollment & discuss withdrawal/self-pay options with students in ineligible courses Secondary schools, colleges, & universities must include eligible course information in information sessions, counselor sessions, and advising
UNDERPERFORMING STUDENTS OHIO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION 3333 -1 -65. 13 • CCP Probation • CCP Dismissal • Appeals Process
CCP PROBATION OHIO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION 3333 -1 -65. 12 A student is placed on CCP Probation when he or she either: Has earned lower than a cumulative 2. 0 GPA in College Credit Plus courses, or Withdraws from, or receives no credit for, two or more courses in same term.
CCP PROBATION OHIO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION 3333 -1 -65. 12 Students are permitted to take 1 course for 1 college term on CCP Probation, but not a course in the same subject in which they earned a D, F, or received no credit.
CCP DISMISSAL OHIO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE SECTION 3333 -1 -65. 12 A student is placed on CCP Dismissal when the student has failed to increase his or her GPA to at least a 2. 0 in College Credit Plus courses during the CCP Probation term. No CCP courses May appeal dismissal status within 5 days of being notified of dismissal After 1 dismissal term, may request to be reinstated
APPEALS PROCESS CCP Probation Appeals - only to take a course in the same subject in which a student previously earned a D, F, or received no credit. CCP Dismissal Appeals – Within 5 days of being dismissed, the student may submit an appeal to the high school to appeal CCP Dismissal. The high school shall determine whether the student may continue on CCP Dismissal, move to CCP Probation, or participate without restrictions per the school’s adopted policy. Student can also appeal after the term on CCP Dismissal.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Secondary schools: Are responsible for placing students on CCP Probation and/or CCP Dismissal, creating an appeals policy, and managing the appeals process. Must review the college grades and cumulative GPAs of students. Must notify the student and parents of a student’s CCP Probation or CCP Dismissal status. Verify correct enrollment while on CCP Probation/Dismissal.

ADVISING CCP courses are transferable courses Transferable ≠ Applicable to specific degree programs Students can earn up to 30 credits per year/ max of 120 before high school graduation (including high school credits)
WHO OWNS THE CCP COURSE TAUGHT AT A HIGH SCHOOL? While a CCP course may be offered within a Secondary School, the course is a college course. What does this mean? Grades Does the college have a different grading scale? FERPA Parental Access?
