Started 2 nd stage of the project for modernisation of the signalling system; q. Started reconstruction of the section Jēkabpils – Varakļāni; q. JASPERS Activities v JASPERS consultants are reviewing the following Cohesion Fund project applications: E 22 section Riga bypass – Koknese, E 22 section Ludza – Terehova, Construction of secondary rail track in section Riga-Krustpils and Development of infrastructure in Krievu sala for relocation of port operations away from city centre. v In 2008 it is planned to submit for review to JASPERS experts the project application for reconstruction of Riga railway network, if a decision to finance it from the Cohesion Fund would be adopted v In 2008 it is planned to use the assistance of the JASPERS experts to draft the terms of reference for experts of the Mobility Plan in the Greater Riga Area.
