History of Coca-Cola Enterprises • CCE was founded in 1986 and has grown through mergers and acquisitions and is listed on the NYSE under "CCE". • Roots date back to 1899 when the first Coca-Cola bottling operation was established. – 1886 – John Pemberton creates Coca-Cola syrup. – 1899 – Coca-Cola sold in bottles. – 1901 – First bottling franchise formed.
