What will be new? v New Standalone YES MH Assessment (CANS) § Add a new standalone assessment to CMBHS that is exclusive to HHSC YES Waiver program. § A new batch layout will be published and data dumps will be supported. § The new assessment will be called YES MH Assessment (CANS). § It will be accessed from the Special Service Documentation menu like other YES Waiver documents in CMBHS. YES Waiver Clinical Eligibility (CE) v YES Waiver Clinical Eligibility (CE) Changes § CE can only be created after completion of the new standalone YES MH Assessment (CANS). § LMHAs can use a YES MH Assessment (CANS) created by another LMHA or by a Wrap-around Provider Organization (WPO). § After deployment, the CE CANS fields will be populated from the new YES MH Assessment (CANS). § Consented MH Dx and YES MH Assessment (CANS) can be used to document YES CE. § In order to document CE Transfer-In, MH Dx and CANS within the organization will no longer be a pre-condition. 01/12/2022 HHS IT - A continuous learning organization 3

New Standalone YES MH Assessment (CANS) § The new assessment will only be available at YES LMHA locations and new YES WPO locations. Can be created at any time for YES Waiver clients. Ø No workflow dependency with existing MH CANS Assessment. Ø No Episode of Care dependency. § The new assessment will include all the existing fields from CANS, Community Data tab and the LOCR Calculator only. There will no Authorization tab thus the document can be placed in Closed Complete status by the MH assessor/LPHA role. § There may be some new additional fields (TBD). § If the client already has an MH CANS (Initial/Update) assessment within the LMHA, the users can choose to either manually enter or autopopulate CANS and Community data into the new standalone YES (CANS) Assessment from the most recent CANS (Initial/Update) assessment. 01/12/2022 HHS IT - A continuous learning organization 4
