Conclusions • Qualitative analysis of the obtained images of stained human fibroblasts nuclei showed that accelerated 15 N ions induce more repair resistant clustered DNA DSB with highorder structure compared to γ-rays. • In general, the analysis of the structure of 53 BP 1/OGG 1 clusters revealed that the number of OGG 1 foci is greater than 53 BP 1 foci per cluster. The results may demonstrate that there are several base damage to one DSB. • It was revealed the number of 53 BP 1 and OGG 1 foci per cell decreased but the most high-order OGG 1/53 BP 1 clusters were observed at 24 h after irradiation. The result may indicate the difficulty in the repair processes of all types of DNA lesions included in clusters.
