Cloud based Natural Language Interfaces for Real World
Cloud based Natural Language Interfaces for Real World Objects Problem: • • • Impact: Most commands in real world are either physical touch based or through a complex proprietary item controller. NO universal controllers available for everything in our world! While we do have remote controllers for our TV and Blue Ray players but nothing unifies the Thermostat and the Microwave. While Soft controller options like the i. Phone and other Smart phones are available none of them currently have a singular interface that unifies interfaces for these different real world objects. • Currently almost all controllers for objects in the real world are touch based. We have to physically walk up to them and touch and set things on a dial or an LCD screen. Very limited functionality is available when it comes to actually being able to control things from afar. The soft controller would effectively give us a live and intelligent UI that spawns differently depending on the object in question. Effectively giving us the ability to talk to objects around us. Approach: • • Thesis: Menu and Form Based Interfaces for objects can be designed and stored in a cloud, from where they can be accessed and downloaded on the fly to any soft controller app or to your computers, which will then spawn a corresponding interface for the object. How: Form and Menu based interfaces with support for a stilted set of the English language can be developed for each of our target objects (Thermostat or Microwave Ovens). These API’s can then be downloaded to a smart controller (Laptop, or Phone app) and can be spawned into an interface. The Interface with the Natural Language and Menu/Form based interface will assist the user form the commands they intend and then deliver it wirelessly to the listening object.
