MATERIALS AND METHOD • Post-traumatic diaphyseal deformities of lower limb treated using Ilizarov ring

MATERIALS AND METHOD • Post-traumatic diaphyseal deformities of lower limb treated using Ilizarov ring fixator during October 2016 to June 2019 were retrospectively reviewed. • Ortho-SUV frame was used for software guided deformity correction in all patients. Pre-operative radiographs, surgical details, deformity correction data and sequential radiographs during treatment course were analyzed in detail. • Deformity analysis was done using clinical methods and Paley’s mal-alignment analysis method. • Deformity was categorised based on malalignment severity in different planes.

CASE PRESENTATION Young Patient comes in casualty of LNH with open fracture grade 3

CASE PRESENTATION Young Patient comes in casualty of LNH with open fracture grade 3 A in June 2019 after RTA. Patient is transferred to ortho casualty where limb assessment was done and advised USG doppler for vascularity and Xray of limb for seeing fracture fragment.

OPERATIVE MANAGEMENT After thorough wound wash partial closure was done and external fixator was applied and patient was shifted to post op ward. Daily wound wash and dressing was done in ward followed by SSG was done in plastic surgery ward. After healing of wound fixator was removed. Xray was done. Malalignment and sinus seen.

Sinus debridement and ilizarov fixator was applied followed by SUV application. SUV assisted correction

Sinus debridement and ilizarov fixator was applied followed by SUV application. SUV assisted correction of malalignment was done followed by SUV frame removed and replaced by threaded rods. Xray was done. Alignment was achieved. DISCUSSION SUV assisted diaphyseal malalignment correction is better and easy and more permanent as compared to only ilizarov assisted correction. Achieved in 27 patients with mean angulation of 3. 4 degree. CONCLUSION ORTHO SUV is reliable equipment for multidimensional diaphyseal malalignment with high accuracy.
