Applied Climate Information System l Applied Climate Information System (ACIS) ¡ l NOAA Regional Climate Centers (RCCs) A framework for management of metadata and climate data ¡ ¡ ¡ Ingest, Quality Control, and Archive Multiple Datasets Networked/Robust System Distributed Data Management Manages climate data (so you don’t have to!)
Applied Climate Information System ACIS provides a platform for suites of climate products l CLIMOD (RCCs) l xm. ACIS (NWS) l NOWData (NWS) l Ag. ACIS (NRCS) For More Information, please see http: //www. rcc-acis. org
Current Climate Summary Maps Produced Daily at HPRCC l Maps produced on a National, Regional and State Level l Products produced include: l ¡ ¡ Precipitation (Total, Departure from Normal, % of Normal, SPI) Temperature (Average, HDD, CDD, Departure from Normal) Over 2000 Maps produced each day http: //hprcc. unl. edu/maps
Gridded SPI Product Produced for the NDMC Updated Daily Available through Current Climate Summary Maps interface l 30, 60, 90, 6 -month, 12 -month, From Jan 1 (current year) and From October 1 (water year) updated daily. l Last Month, Last 3 Months, and Last 12 months available (updated monthly) l Uses Stations with at-least 30 years of data l l l
Station-Level Products l Station Metadata l Dynamic Visualizations using data from ACIS l SPI Time-Series Product (in development) l Soil Moisture products available for AWDN stations (10, 25, 50 and 100 cm depths, root zone water)
NDMC Drought Atlas l Connections to ACIS for Current Climate Data (Online Atlas) l Quality Control l Dynamic Station-Level climate data and time-series graphics for online interface
XML-RPC Connections to ACIS l e. Xtensible Markup Language – Remote Procedure Call l Provides dynamic methods of retrieving climate data l Any framework that has XML-RPC capabilities can make client calls to any RCC XML-RPC server l Intended for dynamic online interfaces
Future l Expand Station-Level and Spatial product offerings ¡ ¡ ¡ l Online GIS interface to Current Climate Summary Products ¡ ¡ ¡ l ‘Favorite’ stations lists Automated report generation (via email, ftp, etc) Customized XML-RPC connections to ACIS for other organizations Linking of station-level time-series information to spatial products Ability to save favorite views/products and quickly cover areas of interest Downloadable files in multiple formats for Products (GIS, CSV, PDF, JPG, PNG, etc) Improve Quality Control of Real-Time Data in ACIS
