Teacher’s guide Setting up this resource: • Before you start, you will need 10 questions with their answers. • Enter the questions and answers into the table on slide 8 of this file. • • Print out slide 9 and cut up the shapes to create numbers for each team. Each team needs the appropriate number of shapes to match the number of people within that team. Running the Activity: • Start the slideshow and scroll through the first 3 slides to show the objective of the game. • Explain that a saboteur will be chosen for each team randomly • Hand out the shapes before so that each person in each team has a number from 1 to however many are in the team. • • • On slide 4, ensure that the number in each team is correct. Click on the number to increase it by 1 until the number per team is correct. Explain that each person should secretly check what their number is and then dispose of the piece of paper. Click on ‘Click here to select saboteur’. The number will tell each group who is the saboteur but only the saboteur knows their true identity. Start the game by clicking ‘Click here to start’ Question 1 will be shown. Give the teams up until the time that the music stops (about 2 and a half minutes) to decide on an answer and write this answer on a piece of paper. Collect the answers in and then reveal the correct answer. Adjust scores by awarding a point to each team that got the question correct (by clicking on the number for each team) Repeat this until all questions have been completed

Teacher’s guide The Big Reveal: • When the questions and answers have been completed, ask each team to determine and then state who they think was the saboteur amongst them. • Then ask the saboteurs to formally reveal themselves! • • The winning team is the team with the highest score and who correctly identified their saboteur. (You may wish to have a tie-break question in the event of a tie). The winning saboteur is the saboteur who remained undetected and whose team got the lowest score.
