CLICdp organisation, recent changes Changes in composition listed in Speak. Com and Pub. Com talks WG Physics and Analysis, Co-conveners: Victoria Martin and Philipp Roloff WG Vertex and Tracking Detector Technology: Mathieu Benoit and Dominik Dannheim WG Detector Optimisation: Konrad Elsener and Frank Simon 4
New CLIC detector model (1) return yoke (Fe) with muon-ID detectors superconducting solenoid, 4 Tesla fine grained (PFA) calorimetry, 1 + 7. 5 Λi, Si-W ECAL, Sc-FE HCAL end-coils for field shaping forward region with compact forward calorimeters silicon tracker, (large pixels / short strips) Note: final beam focusing is outside the detector ultra low-mass vertex detector, ~25 μm pixels 11. 4 m 5
New CLIC detector model (2) Layout of the new CLIC detector, CLICdet, is now finalised Corresponding CLICdp Draft note under review since today CLICdp-Draft-2016 -025 (do not forget to login) This is an important milestone for the collaboration. Please read the note and provide your comments! Drawings of the new detector (and more to come) can be found here: EDMS link CLICdet drawings An important next step is the finalisation of the corresponding New software suite for simulation and reconstruction See next talk by Andre Sailer Volunteers for performance validation of the SW code and detector layout are most welcome! See Philipp's presentation on August 30 6
CLIC staging baseline / CERN courier Updated Baseline for a Staged Compact Linear Collider CLIC and CLICdp collaboration paper CERN yellow report CERN-2016 -004 and ar. Xiv: 1608. 07537 Yellow report is now in 2 nd print proof iteration. Within a few weeks, we will send a number of printed copies to each of the institutes (IB representative). Number of copies ≈≤ number of authors (517 authors) CERN courier article on the new CLIC staging baseline “CLIC steps up to the Te. V challenge” by Philipp Roloff and Daniel Schulte (November 2016) http: //cerncourier. com/cws/article/cern/66567 We are receiving positive reactions, in particular on the fact that CLIC proposes an “affordable and compact” collider for Higgs&top physics 7
Publishing of CLIC Higgs paper in EPJC Higgs Physics at the CLIC Electron-Positron Linear Collider CLICdp collaboration paper 40 pages, 123 authors, >25 full simulation studies CLICdp-Pub-2016 -001 and ar. Xiv: 1608. 07538 (29/8/2016) Was submitted to EPJC (end August) EPJC review comments (mid Oct): • Text suggestions • Systematic uncertainties • Theoretical uncertainties Discussion took place with editor to understand the scope of the publication Editing/calculation work ongoing by Victoria Martin, Aidan Robson, Philipp Roloff, Frank Simon Expect a 2 nd iteration after returning (in January) the modified document 8
Higgs study (accelerator parameters) For your info: “Beam parameter optimization at CLIC using the process e+e- => HZ => Hqq at 380 Ge. V” Nucl. Instrum. Methods Phys. Res. A (2016) F. Adrianala, R. Raboanary, P. Roloff, D. Schulte High luminosity => smaller beam size => more beamstrahlung The e+e- => HZ => Hqq process is used as a gauge to understand the optimum beam size Study also addresses influence of jet energy resolution (confirms 3. 5% is close to optimum) 9
Detector calibration => momentum calibration, jet energy calibration, alignment currently under discussion within ILC and CLIC Includes the question whether running at the Z-peak is desirable. See presentations by Jean-Jacques Blaising at the CLICdp analysis WG: https: //indico. cern. ch/event/578024/timetable/ http: //indico. cern. ch/event/580503/ In parallel, the CLIC accelerator team is assessing luminosity yield at 91 Ge. V See also presentation at the ILC parameter working group: https: //agenda. linearcollider. org/event/7428/ Your input is welcome! 10
