Would you like to try the Clean Air Scooter Challenge? The Clean Air Scooter Challenge is running from 14– 18 June 2021 We challenge you to join in and scoot to school each day or as often that week as you can

Did you know that on the Thursday of the Scooter Challenge it’s also Clean Air Day? Take a deep breath in and feel the air filling your lungs … We all need clean air to live!. Clean Air Day would be a great day to read our book about how we can help to keep our air clean We’ll remind you about this again at the end

Did you know that road traffic makes our air dirty? Cars give off dirty smoke and dust that is bad for our health

Instead of getting into your car, why not go on a scooter safari on your way to school? A safari is when you spot wildlife in its own habitat

Why is it fun to scoot to school? We can hear and see things that we wouldn’t in a car!

Why is it good to walk, scoot or cycle to school? You get exercise that keeps you fit and healthy and ready to learn! It’s fun too!

Why is it good to leave cars at home? Cleaner air! Less noise! Safer roads!

What else can we do to keep ourselves healthy on our way to school? Avoid busy roads like this! Choose quieter streets with less traffic so you can breathe cleaner air

How else can we help to keep our air clean? Ask the adults to switch off their engines when waiting in their cars

What can we do if we need to drive somewhere? Why not give someone else a lift? Park away from school and then Park & Stride or Scoot from the Boot For the last 5 -10 minutes of your journey Remind drivers to switch off their engines whenever possible
