Classwide Intervention An intervention provided to all students in a grade level. Used when less than 60% of students in a grade level are on-track. Or, put another way, when 40% or more of students are at-risk.

Universal Screening Data indicated 44% of students were below targets in 6 th – 8 th grade. 6 th grade – 38% 7 th grade – 45% 8 th grade – 43% Building leadership team decided that all grades should participate in a classwide intervention focused on fluency. In addition, students who were less than 95% accurate were also provided additional intervention in decoding skills.
Intervention Description INTERVENTION Teachers choose content text each day. SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS During PLCs, instructional coaches taught teachers each of the interventions. Teachers choose either Duet Instructional coaches modeled reading, Echo reading, or interventions. Partner reading each day. Frequency: Every day (6 classes per day) Duration: 5 minutes per class (30 min. /day) Volunteer teachers were recorded doing each intervention. Videos were shared via PLCs.
