Entering the Classroom 1. Enter Miss. Silva’s Class quietly, and grab your materials from your locker. 2. Have a seat quietly. 3. Make sure that you have a sharpened pencil. 4. Once you are seated you need to begin writing the agenda in your planner.

Raise your hand when: § You have a question § You want to answer a question. § You would like to comment on something.

Restroom and Water We will take class restroom/water breaks: After P. E When we switch homerooms After lunch

What happens when I need to go before a break? § During individual work time if you need to go to the bathroom, raise your hand to ask permission. § During stations one at a time may go, without asking. § Remember: you must write the time you go in your planner. § Remember: to place the bathroom pass on your desk.

Class behavior reward: Right Choice Club How do I become a member? • Have zero planner signatures in a week. How do I stay in the club? • Keep your planner, signature free by making right choices. What does a member do? Members get to: • line up first • pass out/ pick up papers • sit wherever they want during individual work time • have 3 tickets to put in the drawing bags

Class behavior reward: Ticket Drawing bags § When you earn tickets for good choices you will get a chance to put your tickets in a bag for prizes. § The drawing for prizes will be done on Fridays. § So remember the more great choices you make the more chances you will have to win

Homework Reward: Classroom Bingo § It’s simple: when Ms. Silva checks homework those students who have their homework completed get to put their name up on the Classroom Bingo poster. § When the chart gets filled up we get to play bingo! § Take a minute to talk to your group, how can we encourage others to complete their homework?

Attendance Reward: Popcorn party § At the beginning of each month every person’s name will be hanging on the door. § When people are absent their name will be taken off for the month. § Those people whose names are still up at the end of the month will get to have a popcorn party

Consequences What happens when I don’t make good choices? § When you are doing something that you are not supposed to a warning will be given. § When a warning is given your planner will be placed on my back table. § If the behavior continues your planner will be signed. § Take a minute to discuss at your table, behaviors that could result in a planner signature.

Desk Materials On each desk there is a box that includes: § Markers § Crayons On each desk there is a cup that includes: § Pencils **These materials are to stay in the boxes, and are for everyone at the table to use.

How do I ask for: § Pencil -If you need a pencil use one at your table. -If there aren’t any then you may get up and get one from the front desk. § Tissue -You may get a tissue at any time as long as you are not disrupting other students. § Nurse’s pass -Unless it is an emergency, please wait until individual work time to ask for a pass.

Ms. Silva’s Areas § Anything that is behind Miss. Silva’s green table is off limits to students. § The ELMO is not allowed to be used by students.

Student Areas § Stations materials tables § The desk at the front of the classroom has materials that are free for students to use. § Classroom library and computers can be used by students too.

Recycling § There is a recycling bin located in the classroom. § You can place papers in the recycling bin, instead of in the trash.

Snacks § We will have snack time during our homeroom time each day. § Snacks must be healthy! § No candy, cookies or drinks will be allowed.

Ticket out the door § When it is time to leave the classroom we will have a ticket out the door. § This is a quick activity to sum up the lesson we have just finished.
