Why. Why Do We Have are procedures Procedures? important? • They are a part of life – we follow procedures all the time. • They can help things to run more efficiently, and make things safer. • They help to establish our classroom culture, making it a better environment to learn.

How to Enter the Classroom • Calmly enter the room • Put your cell

How to Enter the Classroom • Calmly enter the room • Put your cell phone away and take your seat. • Immediately get to work at your desk. • Do not enter if the door is closed or if there is not a teacher present.

Starting Class • You start the class- not the teacher! • Check off on the attendance sheet that you are present • Get your binder and collect your grade papers from “You’ve Got Mail” bin. • Update your table of contents • Using your agenda Copy down reminders. • Complete the “Do Now” activity on the board.

What to Do With Your Belongings • All of your belongings should be placed in the cabinet with your grade level and period number. • Make sure nothing is in the aisles. • For safety reasons, please DO NOT lean back in your chair!

If You Are Absent • It is your responsibility to come ask the teacher

If You Are Tardy • Tardy means arriving after class has started. • Use the Tardy binder located in the Student Center to write down your name and time you arrived. If you have a pass staple it to the back of the sheet. • If you do not have a pass, plan on explaining why you were late. • Being tardy 3 or more times may result in a call home or lunch detention. • Make sure this doesn’t become a habit!

If You Do Not Have Your Classwork/Homework • Get a “Classwork/Homework Excuse Note” from the folder. • Fill it out. All of it. Be honest. • Hand this paper in when the teacher collects your homework. • Don’t let it happen again!

Turning in Papers • Classwork/Homework needs to be handed in when it is due

Turning in Papers • Classwork/Homework needs to be handed in when it is due - NOT late - and NOT early! • Make sure your name, date, class period and table number and assignment are on each paper. • Pass all papers to person responsible for collecting work. • Person will then bring work to the teacher.

Sharpening a Pencil • Please sharpen pencils before class begins. • Do not sharpen pencils when the teacher is speaking. • Only one person at a time at the pencil sharpener. • You may barrow a pencil from the student center. Return it at the end of class

Pad/cellphone in Class • Your device should be brought to school fully charged the day it is needed for class. • If it is not being used in class, it is to be put into the cell phone docking station in the teacher’s office. • Playing games or accessing social media sites is not allowed. • Devices are for ACADEMIC USE only! The teacher will tell you when it is ok to use.
