Do Nows Do Now: each class will begin with a do-now. These are review questions or questions about a new topic we will explore. As soon as you sit down, open up to your do-now section and respond to the donow on the board Keep in a separate workbook or computer file You can just write the answer to the Q as long as you’ll understand what it’s about later. Saves time. Eg. If the Q is: What does delicious mean? A: delicious= very tasty

Letter of Introduction Dear Students: This is my second year teaching at Singapore International

Letter of Introduction Dear Students: This is my second year teaching at Singapore International School @ Saigon South and I am excited to finally get to teach your class and to still be working in Ho Chi Minh City living here with my family. I am from a city called Edmonton in Canada. For the previous 8 years I have taught high school Social Science and English literature at Harry Ainlay, a large high school with about 2500 students only in Year 10, 11 and 12. I now live in district 8 with my husband Greg and our two daughters. Mila is 3 years old and Maria is 5. Maria is in prep and Mila just began K 1 here. I love to travel most of all and have been coming to Vietnam ever summer or at least every 2 years since 2007. The people here are very friendly, the scenery is beautiful and the food is delicious. There is always something interesting to do and I am happy to call HCMC my home for the next few years at least. In Canada, most people come from somewhere else and my ancestors are Ukrainian. I speak Ukrainian and teach my children to speak it too. Sometimes we travel to visit family in Ukraine, but most of my family is in Edmonton, Canada where I come from. I have been to some other places including Cuba, Jamaica, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Brunei, Singapore, Poland, and many places in Western Canada and USA. I hope to see more of Asia in the next few years. I also love to read, cook , eat delicious food, watch movies, ride my bicycle and run. I enjoy spending time with good friends and family whenever I can. Now it’s your turn. Please take a few minutes to write me a short letter and tell me about who you are and what is important to you. Sincerely, Mrs. Diana Sorobey
