Delineation of Duties: Senates l Providing a centralized means of communication between classified professionals and the rest of the District community l Articulate the professionalism of the classified professionals so that it is properly recognized and valued l Provide opportunity to develop individual leadership among the classified professionals, as well as increase the professional standards of its members l Promote and support activities that develop or increase skills, productivity, and professionalism
Delineation of Duties: Unions l Wages, salary schedule and placement, promotion, seniority, layoff, reemployment rights, initial classification and reclassification l Hours of employment l Health and welfare benefits, including holidays and vacations l Leave, transfer, and reassignment policies, including sick leaves, maternity leaves, bereavement leaves, military leaves, industrial accident leaves, personal necessity leaves, and unpaid leaves of absence l Safety conditions of employment l Procedures for processing grievances and disciplinary actions
