How are PLANTS classified? There are many ways to classify plants. One way is to classify them into two groups: Flowering Plants and Non. Flowering Plants.

Flowering Plants which produce flowers are called flowering plants. Some characteristics of flowering plants: They produce flowers when the conditions are right. For example, some plants produce flowers only during certain times of the year. They produce fruits. Flowering Plants reproduce by seeds. Examples of Flowering Plants: 1. Water Lily 2. Hybiscus 3. Mimosa 4. Rice 5. Angsana

Non-flowering plants Plants which do not produce flowers are called non-flowering plants. Characteristics of Non-Flowering Plants: Reproduce by tiny spores which are found in the spore bags located on the underside of the leaves. When the spores are mature they are released into the air and carried by wind to new places. Examples of Non-Flowering Plants: 1. Mosquito Fern 2. Bird Nest Fern 3. Staghorn fern 4. Moss 5. Water Spangle 6. Dragon Scale Fern 7. Pine 8. Tree Fern 9. Sword Fern
