EMBRYONIC CONNECTIVE TISSUE n MESENCHYME n MUCOUS
Embryonic mesenchyme Ø . Mesenchyme consists of a population of undifferentiated cells, generally elongated but with many shapes, having large euchromatic nuclei and prominent nucleoli which indicate high levels of synthetic activity. These cells are called mesenchymal cells. Ø Mesenchymal cells are surrounded by an extracellular matrix which they produced and which consists largely of a simple ground substance rich in hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid).
Embryonic mesenchyme This section is stained with Masson trichrome which stains collagen fibers blue and the lack of collagen in mesenchyme is apparent
EMBRYONIC CONNECTIVE TISSUE
Mucous tissue n Mucous tissue of an embryo showing fibroblasts immersed in a very loose extra cellular matrix composed mainly of molecules of the ground substances.
