Class Options for Students Hosted by: Aman Kandola, Interim Dean of Student Services Cheryl Latimer, Counselor
Breathe • We know this is a challenging time for our students, our community, and our world. • Our focus on today’s meeting will be to look at options for students with your classes. • We encourage students to complete your courses if possible. There is support available with tutoring and resources such as the Library, and loaner laptops/Chromebooks. • However, we know that it may not be possible for all students.
Excused Withdrawal Due to this COVID 19 Pandemic, students are eligible to drop a course and receive an Excused Withdrawal: • EW does not count against your 3 maximum attempts in a class • EW does not impact your GPA • Excused Withdrawal will count towards academic progress for Financial Aid. This only impacts students who are on Financial Aid probation or dismissal. HOWEVER, for this emergency, our Financial Aid will work with students to ensure your financial aid is not impacted. Incomplete If you are receiving a C or higher in a class and you feel you are not in a space to complete the course, you can talk with your instructor about the option of an incomplete. Ø The instructor is the only one that can initiate an incomplete. Once the instructor assigns the Incomplete, the student has to complete an Incomplete grade agreement. Ø With an Incomplete, you would be agreeing to complete the remaining work within 1 year. Ø If you do not complete the work within 1 year, you will be issued an F grade in the class.
