CJK NACO Project: Current Activities • PCC Directory and CJK NACO Statistics • Launched on June 29, 2018, instruction at: http: //www. loc. gov/aba/pccd/ • Guidelines for Entering Statistics in the PCC Directory • Obtaining PCC NACO statistics via the OCLC Usage Statistics Portal • May have to manual collect if contribute both Western and CJK names • CJK NACO Training: • Two libraries with need for CJK NACO took self-study of 2017 CJK training recordings and PPTs (LAC, Univ. of Oklahoma) • CJK Non-Latin References Cleanup Project • CJK NACO Best Practice documentation

CJK NACO Project: On the horizon… • CJK NACO Non-Latin References Cleanup Project • Encourage CJK NACO catalogers to participate • Opportunity for NACO catalogers who are under review • CJK NACO training • Possible in September, depending on the need • Possible in Fall: Webinar series on using tools (such as GEOnet, Google Earth, CJK reference sites, etc. ) for creating place names • CJK Question page and Q&A sessions (experiment period) • CJK Best Practice Discussion and Documents • Japanese creative names – report from Mr. Morimoto a) Some NARs for creative Japanese personal names (e. g. , カベルナリア吉田, ぶーた, ゆか しなもん, et cetera) have been contributed to and changed in the LC/NACO Authority File; b) More and more cases of that sort appear forthcoming, while some cases would cause difficulty in NARs preparation; and c) A project to study categories of such creative Japanese names for laying out suggestion for choice of preferred names and arrangement of name elements for AAPs construction is contemplated.
