Civilian acculturation is the process of integrating new civilian employees into an organization and equipping them to become successful and produ ctive. While many agencies understand that making a favorable first impression through the recruitment process is impor tant, it is often not reinforced during a new hire's first year on the job. We must focus and invest in effectively integrating our most valuable resource - our people. The AF Acculturation process wi ll include: • AF New Employee Orientation (NEO) Course • Supervisor and Sponsor Guide • Welcome Packet s • Unit Orien tation • Unit/Base Tour • Tr aining Templates The AF Civilian Pin All AF civilians completing the course will be awarded the Air Force Civilian Pin. This pin signifies the importance of civilian professional development and the contributions Air Force civilians make to the Air Force. Why Do We Need Acculturation? • To survive in today’s highly competitive market • To improve retention of new employees • To ensure employees have a good first impression of AF About the Course The AF NEO Course is the cornerstone of the acculturation process and is designed for the new AF Civilian. This course provides comprehensive knowledge and understanding of AF mission and traditions.
