Rifles UNION CONFEDERATE

Muskets The Springfield Rifle Musket was the most widely known weapon during the civil war. Given its accessibility as well as its overall performance, it was a very practical rifle during the era of the American Civil War.

Muskets The Enfield Rifle Musket used mainly by the Confederates due to its power and caliber. It was prefered by the Confederates because it could also fire higher caliber bullets in it as well.

Rifle The third most well known rifle used during the Civil War was the Lorenzo Rifle. Created by Austrian Joseph Lorenzo in 1854 this rifle had time to go through changes which ultimately let to “perfection”.

Rifle The Whitworth Rifle invented by Joseph Whitworth was created for one purpose only and that was for its incredible accuracy. This weapon was basically only used by the Confederate snipers.

Handguns

Handguns Colt: This was a very popular company during the Civil War. This company created many handguns mostly preferred by the Confederate Army. This company is still in business today as this name may sound familiar to you.

Handguns Remington: A chief competitor to Colt. Most famous for the Remington Model 1858. This was used as an alternative revolver for people who prefered a different company.

Handguns Smith & Wesson: Another alternative. This particular brand generally fired brass bullets. These were favorable to some soldiers depending on preference.

Swords Union This was one of the most common swords of the union army man. This particularly was used in the 1830 s - 1860 s

Swords Confederate This is a m 1850 Staff and Fields Officer Scabbard. This is the most common sword carried by
