Joel Glover, Finance and Supplier Engagement The Role Thanks for your interest in CSHR, and the advertised vacancy. We are looking for candidates who can excel in a stretching and demanding Band A (G 7) Finance Business Partner role. You will work at the heart of the Functional agenda within Cabinet Office. The role offers significant opportunity for growth and professional development. You will lead a high performing team, supporting senior colleagues from across the CSHR to manage their programme and business as usual activity within tightly constrained and complex budgets. You will be expected to role model CPD and investment in your own L&D as a finance professional. The team The Finance and Supplier Engagement team is a 30 person team, led by a DD and with 3 functional expert Band A+/Grade 6 s. The team is a national team, with a presence in London and Newcastle and some dispersed workers. There are currently 2 Band A (Grade 7) FBPs in the team, who each have line management and team leadership responsibilities – the exact split of responsibilities will depend on the skills, experience and location of successful candidates. 3
Finance and Supplier Engagement Key attributes and Essential experience The role requires substantial stakeholder engagement across multiple DD and Director led budgets. You will be a confident, clear communicator, able to break down financial concepts for non-finance professionals. You will have an eye for detail, be able to redesign processes and approaches to drive improvement, but also be able to take a strategic view. This job is a team leader role. The team contains a range of staff at all grades from AO to SEO, delivering a high volume of transactional work and analysis across a complex business. You will be expected to coach, mentor and manage as an integral part of the leadership team. Candidates should be CCAB qualified accountant, or equivalent, with evidence of CPD. Location The post is based in London or Newcastle, with an expectation that the post holder will spend at least 2 days a week in London. The team actively support, promote and encourage flexible working patterns and approaches. 4
Finance and Supplier Engagement Pay and allowances London - From £ 48, 965 to £ 60, 635 with a mid band of £ 54, 800. National - From £ 43, 039 to £ 56, 524, with a mid band of £ 49, 782. Cabinet Office pay a qualified accountancy allowance of £ 5, 000, which this role attracts. The allowance is non-pensionable. Other benefits and allowances are as standard with all Cabinet Office roles, including a generous leave entitlement, best of breed pension and employee benefits programme. 5
