WHAT IS A CIVIC DUTY? • Civic duties are the “musts” of citizenship. This means that all U. S. citizens are required by law to perform these actions.

CIVIC DUTIES CONT. • 4. Serving in the Armed Forces: We have a duty to protect our country. • 5. Appearing in Court: If you are called to serve jury duty or to testify as a witness, you must do so.

CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES • Civic responsibilities are the “shoulds” of American citizens. Though you are not required by law to do them, most Americans recognize their importance.

CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES • 1: Voting: One of the most important rights of U. S. citizens—they get to choose who our leaders will be. • 2: Being Informed: To make a good decision when voting and to be involved in government, it is important to know about current events. • 3.
