City of Pueblo Lt. Dana Mission Statement The Pueblo Police Department exists to preserve liberty, enhance public safety and defend human dignity. We are dedicated to protecting life, property, and maintaining order while assuring fair and equal treatment to everyone. We seek to provide a professional community–oriented police service. We are committed to creating and maintaining an active community partnership and assisting citizens in identifying and solving problems to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods. Dana Current conditions of the Police Department Overview: � � The Pueblo Police Department is responsible for public safety within 2. 5 square miles of incorporated area, with approximately 50, 000 residents. The Pueblo Police Department is currently experiencing a transition period. The Department has 56 sworn officers and 22 general employees.

Dana � Current conditions of the Police Department Overview: � The Department is now down 10 sworn positions and due to the political climate may not be able to fill these positions quickly. The City has experienced economic difficulties and there have been no pay raises, with salaries dipping to the lowest in the region.

The Department is expected to have to promote one captain, one lieutenant and at least three sergeants to remain operational.
