St. Pauli Chronic ¡ When St. Pauli was founded in the early 1700 s it wasn‘t a Hamburg city borough ¡ In the End of the 17 th century the City Hamburg transfered their poorhouses to St. Pauli. ¡ In the beginning of the 19 th century St. Pauli suffered under the occupation of Napoleon and their destruction. ¡ After Napoleons army left St. Pauli rehabilitaded itself astonishingly fast. ¡ 1820 St. Pauli had it‘s old shape again ¡ Until 1894 St. Pauli was a place for builders, prostitutes and people thoes where banned from Hamburg
St. Pauli Chronic II ¡ 1894 St. Pauli became a part of Hamburg but it was still a borough for the poor people ¡From those days, St. Pauli received its filthy image which became a label brand for Hamburg ¡Nowadays St. Pauli belongs to the district Hamburg Mitte and is an important tourism magnet ¡No other city borough has such an unique flair as St. Pauli
