Why cite sources? • Citing sources is an important part of academic honesty. •

Why cite sources? • Citing sources is an important part of academic honesty. • It shows that what you have learned came from the ideas of someone else, who in turn got their ideas from another person, and so on. • It is a way of giving credit to those who have done the work ahead of time, as well as tracking where information came from to ensure that it is good quality. • By citing sources and checking if our sources are of good quality, we improve our learning in our subject area overall.
