Vocabulary Circle Graphs: A type of statistical graph used to compare parts of a whole.
Steps to Construct a Circle Graph Let’s use the following frequency table as an example.
Step 1: Convert each ratio to a decimal. (Example) Art: 4, 864 ÷ 44, 132 = 0. 11 Find decimals for the rest of the subjects.
Step 2: Multiply each decimal by 360 to find the angle for each section of the graph. Example: 0. 11 • 360 = 39. 6 (round to 40 o) Find the rest of the angles for the other subjects.
Step 3: Use a compass and a protractor to draw the graph using the angles found.
Step 4: Remember to title and label your graph! Each section of the graph should be labeled with the category that it represents.
