Making Disciples: Building Communities
Jesus said, “Follow Me and I will make you Discipleship is the Mission of the Church Who/What is a Disciple? fishers of men [or Disciple Makers]. ” Matthew 4: 19; 28: 19
Discipleship is the Mission of the Church This is reflected in the General Conference mission statement
Discipleship is the Mission of the Church It is the first work of the Church Board
As administrators our task is to become disciples and train our ministers to also become disciples
It is the person living the life of Christ and reflecting that life. Galatians 2: 20; 4: 19 John 15: 4, 5 Who is a Disciple?
Our ministers are then to train our members to become disciples
Our members are to mingle and make disciples in their communities

1. Listen daily to His word. John 15: 4, 5 2. Look daily at the work and words of Christ. How Do I Live & Reflect the Life of Christ? Who is a Disciple? Hebrews 12: 2 3. Learn daily from the life of Christ. Matt 11: 28, 29
1. Show Jesus – the gospel. Matthew 5 How Do We Make Disciples in the Community? Who is a Disciple? 2. Speak the gospel. Matthew 24: 14; Romans 1: 16 3. Train people to live the gospel.
