Energy Conservation – Quick Tips – Turn off lights & equipment when not in use – Unplug personal items before leaving for day – Casual, professional dress allowed in summer months – Check out the Energy Charts in your building lobby:

Water Conservation – Quick Tips – Notify Public Works Dispatch (397 -6000) if fixtures or sprinklers are “free flowing” – If using locker rooms, take 5 -minutes or less showers

Alternative Transportation – Quick Tips – Register at www. i. Commute. SD. com – Bike racks, locker rooms, & Bike CV maps available – Preferred parking for carpoolers & AFV – Flex schedules available – 9/80 & 4/10

Recycling & Reuse – Quick Tips – Recycling bins (w/ blue lids) available at ALL facilities – Common recyclable items: paper, envelopes, bottles, soda & food cans, dry food boxes, & aluminum foil – Print on both sides of paper & proofread a document on computer (instead of printing it) – Visit the Virtual Warehouse to find unused supplies

Batteries & Hazardous Waste – Quick Tips – Battery disposal containers provided for every department – Please do NOT bring in batteries from home for disposal (other options available closer to your home) – Unless you are authorized to use hazardous materials in your work, leave them alone! – Call Police Dept.
