What is Compliance? Definition: • Conformity • Cooperation or Obedience

How do we measure compliance? Sample Schedule: Sample: What to sample When taken Where to sample What was tested How often to sample When it was received by DWP Compliance determination: Was sample done in the right time period? Was it sent to us by the due date? Were the results below MCL?

Violations: • Kinds of Violations: – M&R • Did not sample or results were sent in late – MCL • Sample results above MCL

System Got a Violation Now What? • M&R violations – It’s the 1 st violation – Not a huge deal. – 2 or more violations – Possible SNC • MCL Violations – 1 st violation • What was the cause? • Do they need to go to increased monitoring? • Any SNC status makes it a Health-Based SNC – High priority – 2 or more violations • Do they need treatment? • Further discussed by Brad this afternoon

What make a SNC? How can it be RTC?

SNC List • Quarterly we get a list from EPA that lists the SNC’s in Oregon and in what category. – New SNC – About To Become Exception (ATBE) – New Exception – Exception • I go through the list and identify which systems can be RTC. • The remainder go into an Excel file that is posted on the website.
